Lordsburg Votes to Send Virden Students to Duncan
In a 3-1-1 vote the Lordsburg board placed a one year moratorium on the Virden dispute and decided to send Virden students to Duncan for the 1974-75 year. Board member Estrada opposed the moratorium citing evidence from both sides.

Dr James A Latham superintendent of Lordsburg schools said the district budget is being revised to cope with a $49000 loss after Virden students attend Duncan Arizona. The plan cuts hiring an assistant principal a Central elementary teaching post and an elementary music teacher and reduces band start dates and building spending while aiming to preserve salary raises for staff.
