Commencement Week Highlights Lordsburg High School Year End

Commencement week in Lordsburg High School marked the largest class in town history. The events included a baccalaureate with Rev. Waitkerson and musical numbers by the high school band, followed by exercises led by President Tom Meauvell and Superintendent Vernon Tolle. Dr. Zimerman of the University spoke on higher education and citizenship, awarding medals to top graduates, with J. Ball and Mary Elizabeth Welty among the honored.

Wednesday Bridge Club Honors at Valedon Afternoon

Pals Graduate From Lordsburg School to University of Arizona

Nancy Chase youngest daughter and Miss Helen Johnson daughter of Frank Johnson were graduated Wednesday evening from Lordsburg schools to the University of Arizona after spending their entire schooling life in Lordsburg. They were received with cordial contact as part of a remarkable western education progress.

Mrs C V Welch Hosts Bridge Session At Home

Mrs C V Welch entertained Thursday afternoon at 10 Valedon with Mrs J B Ames as guest. Three tables of bridge played and Mrs Andrew Thane won high score. Jieri Austin Howe of Tucson Arizona united in marriage with Anna Fay Rodgers of California at the Baptist parsonage around 7 30 Saturday evening. Howe, nicknamed the flying mantis, previously worked in Tucson's automobile business and makes Tucson his permanent home. Rodgers spent years with the Southern Pacific company.

Dr H H Gonder this week installed the latest Pako Kodak Printer in his kodak finishing department. The foot operated machine frees hands for handling prints and includes an automatic numbering device for numbering each print.

Emma Smith of Dallas and Walter Adams of Animas left Lordsburg Hospital Saturday after injuries from accidents. Richard Gilbert recovering from a mine injury left the hospital yesterday. H. M. Ward of Buffalo and Bill Jamison of El Paso survived a Friday auto crash near Rodeo with Ward later leaving hospital Tuesday. Mrs Lay of Rodeo and Mrs Mitchell of Bowie underwent treatments or operations and are reported doing well.
