Lordsburg District Court Holds First Session In Over a Month
The Lordsburg court resumed after a month with criminal cases dominating the docket. William White pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon for shooting his wife in June and was sentenced to 10 to 16 years in the New Mexico State Penitentiary. Richard Kennan alias Lieutenant Richard Sadler, USN, pleaded guilty to passing a worthless check and received 2 to 5 years. Kennan, 25, had a prior long criminal record and had been paroled from a federal penitentiary. He was arrested in El Paso and brought to Lordsburg for trial. The judge ordered both prisoners transported to Santa Fe when convenient. Additional matters included motions in Vinson vs Malone Mines Co. and McClean vs Edington.
