Western New Mexico To Conduct Survey Here
Western New University will survey Hidalgo County to assess interest in college level courses. Donna Rees, Director of Continuing Education, says residents of Lordsburg and Hidalgo County can attend classes without travelling to Silver City. James Hamilton Construction Company of Silver City was the low bidder to chip seal 10.7 miles of Playas Road connecting N. M. 9 with the Interstate at Muir Interchange in Hidalgo County. The bid totaled $806,785, above the state engineer's estimate of $740,036. After bids are awarded, contractors have 15 to 30 days to start work, with contract length set by allotted good weather working days.
