Little Mildred Mining Co Sees Rich Sylvanite Ore Hope

Officials report 120 ore samples from Hidalgo County Hidalgo District show a two pound sample yielding over 125 per ton in gold and silver. The find focuses on Sylvanite ore free gold and silver telluride, with development aimed at deepening a tunnel to reach the rich dike. The district may become a major gold camp rivaling Morenci and Bisbee.

Co-Operative Mining Co Announces Annual Meeting

The Co-Operative Mining Co held its annual meeting at Lordsburg office. 148,118 of 267,874 shares were present or by proxy. Directors Dr. E S Walford C K Ball L R Jones G K Walter H C Walter were reelected. officers HW Walter president F E S Walford vice president C K Ball secretary L A R Jones assistant secretary and treasurer retained. Walter said machinery work continues and the shaft is being sunk with mill expected to operate in about 609 90 days.

The Bowe Oil Field

The Bowie News reports the oil syndicate holds over 36 000 acres in the valley with leases too scattered for a first well. Four or five lease clusters are targeted to consolidate landowners before spudding the first well. Owners holding out are urged to sign up promptly.

Mrs Wm Stover Dies in Lordsburg

The Duncan community mourns the death of Mrs. Wm Stover wife of a prominent local businessman. She leaves four children to support a bereaved husband and follows the recent death of Mrs Sanders. The funeral was deeply sorrowful with a strong sense of communal loss for a devoted mother.

Hudson Sedan Tumbles Three Summersaults on Desert Road

Mrs. Harry Pooley and sister Mrs. Viola Dowdey rode a Hudson coach with her son from Los Angeles to Lordsburg. Near Gila Bend the car rolled three summersaults over sand, demolishing the vehicle and injuring Mrs. Dowdey. All other occupants escaped unharmed. Mrs. Dowdey arrived by train the next day. Mrs. Pooley and Dowdey are daughters of Mrs. Leo Smith.

Auto accident injures Mrs Elmer Jones near residence

Mrs Bartlett driving her Ford yesterday morning was reportedly going slowly when she struck Mrs Elmer Jones as she stepped into the path in front of the Jones residence. Mrs Jones sustained slight injuries and had just learned of her sister's death in Los Angeles.

Happy Jim's Fifth Visit Boosts Lordsburg Fund

Baron J. V. Auriemma known as Happy Jim made his fifth visit over the weekend and raised about 8200 in Lordsburg. Local donations included 161 from business and professional men, 42.50 from the public school faculty, and 18.50 from the Star theatre. He sang at the Methodist church and at the theatre and high school with various accompanists. G L Ross and J C B Amos act as treasurers, remitting to headquarters with a 20 percent home return.

Death of Mrs Sanders in Lordsburg and infant

Mrs JT M Sanders of Duncan died in Lordsburg on Thursday afternoon along with her newborn baby girl. She was 33 and left four children and a grieving husband. Funeral was at the Sanders ranch with JL T Watters delivering the service. Mother and baby were buried together in the family cemetery.
