Lordsburg Wins HUD Backed Low Income Housing Deal
Mayor Alan Koff announced Lordsburg will receive about 1 500 000 in federal funds for a 100 unit low income housing project financed by private capital and run by a local housing authority. The plan includes a 3 acre park a baseball field and a community center on 24 total acres with rent ranging 35 to 45 dollars monthly. After 20 years the city will receive title to the project and will be paid for rent and utilities by HUD each month. Elderly units may number 12 to 15 with potential adjustments for more senior housing.
