Lordsburg Chamber Honors Supt Wilson and Local Officials

The Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce banquet honored Supt William Wilson of the Southern Pacific and District Judge Raymond Ryan with praise for their addresses. Speakers included Judge Ryan and J S Vaught, with E L Bandy and City Attorney Ralph Spann noting local progress on electrification, sewers, and a municipal water plant as the crowd praised county boosterism and railroad investment.

New Freshmen Girls Form Hemley Strump Band Club

The Freshmen Girls met after school in Miss Pounds room Tuesday to organize the Hemley Strump Band Club. Officers elected include President Tallulah Lyday Secretary Margarite Nystrom and Treasurer Jewell Ownby. Members pledged enthusiasm to make the club a success and adopted a motto about kindness and thoughtful speaking.

The private car of President Wm Sproule of the Southern Pacific Co stopped at Lordsburg on Monday. He and associates T H Williams G W Boschke Wm Jackle and Wm Wilson spoke with the editor and posed for a photo in the winter sunshine praising railroad executives for courtesy and public service.

Small buys Haynes-Six 55 in El Paso trip

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Small with Mrs. Chase and son Junior and E. M. Luckie swapped their old Haynes for a new Haynes-Six 55 in El Paso on Friday. They then went to Las Cruces for a visit with Rev. M. O. Williams, returning to Lordsburg Sunday morning with local notes of a hotel dinner sized sweet potato and some corn.

Former Lordsburg Man Dead

Wilcox formerly of Lordsburg died suddenly at his daughter's home in Pine Bluff Arkansas on Saturday January 1922 aged 64. He had previously suffered a stroke of paralysis while living in Lordsburg and will be remembered by many friends.

Lordsburg Firms Hold Annual Meetings in 1921 Event

The Co-Operative Mining Co. held its regular annual meeting in Lordsburg chaired by H. C. Walter with 217,000 shares present. Directors elected were Lorenz Scherer W. Taylor Walter Eisley Walford and Ball. Officers elected: Walter president and GM Scherer VP Ball secretary treasurer. Mining plans include sinking a mine shaft at least 500 feet deeper and intensified development for large silver ore output. Lordsburg Hospital Co. stockholders elected A W Morningstar C P Austin M M Crocker H K Buvens Karl Mohler and Margaret Downey as directors. Mohler named president Buvens VP Downey secretary Morningstar treasurer. Lordsburg Printing Co. elected Morningstar Chase Augustine Porteus and Holt to the board, with printing industry expectations for 1922.

Miss Blanche Westbrook who has served as stenographer for Morningstar firms and her mother Mrs L D Westbrook will move to El Paso in a few days. Miss Sweetye Kimbrough will replace Miss Westbrook as stenographer.

At the annual meeting of stockholders of the First National Bank of Lordsburg the board of directors and officers were all re elected. Directors named include Frank R. Coon John B. Crowell Glen L. Mining Claims Must Be Reported to State Tax Commission
