Lordsburg March 2 election to fill four council seats

City Clerk Lupe Rivera announced Lordsburg voters will go to the polls on March 2 1976 to elect four councilmen. Seats held by David Warren Eddie Diaz Frank Orona Jr and Paul Gandara expire. Gandara was appointed to fill the vacancy created by John Fine resigning two years ago and is the only sitting member not originally elected to the post. Mayor Ted White appointed him to the council.

Gene Moore Named To Criminal Justice Planning Commission

Hidalgo County Sheriff Gene Moore is appointed by New Mexico Governor Jerry Apodaca to Region V Criminal Justice Planning Commission. Region V covers Catron Socorro Sierra Luna Grant and Dona Ana Counties. The 15 member panel reviews funding projects from the LEAA and Gov Council which may disburse over 2.3 million dollars next fiscal year for state crime reduction initiatives. Others named include E C Dave Senna Richard F Montoya E H Williams Albert Johnson Ruth A King Don Watson Jim Romero Ken Hoff man Ron Pincomb Lawrence M Pickett James Woolsey Henry Scimanna Judge Paul Marshall and Marlene Kelly.
