Voters set to elect five city councillors in Lordsburg
Lordsburg voters go to the polls from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday March 4 to elect five city councillors for four year terms in four wards and a two year post in Ward Four. Precinct One votes at Central School south gym entrance, Precincts Two and Three at Lordsburg Civic Center 313 East Fourth Street. Eleven candidates compete with Better Government and independent tickets represented. A referendum on regulating municipal utilities by the State Public Service Commission is also on the ballot.

Last Thursday evening wrapped a four week training session for volunteer firemen from Hidalgo County. Participating departments included Animas Cotton City Rodeo and Lordsburg with local rescue crews also present. Fire Protection Instructor David Rubio led the drills teaching propane fire control and a propane tree demonstration at Lordsburg High School.
