County Re opens Hospital Building With Renovation

Hidalgo County completes a 200000 dollar renovation turning the idle 1962 Hidalgo Medical Complex into a primary care unit with six exam rooms X ray and labs while planning to lease 5000 square feet to Gila Regional for primary care. HMS leads dental care with a 22500 state grant.

Relief in Sight For Red Rock Residents

Grant County Commission awarded the bid for a replacement bridge over the Gila River at Red Rock. The low bid came in at 879473 dollars, with the Federal Emergency Management Agency funding most of the project. J H Ryan and Son of Albuquerque won the contract to rebuild the bridge destroyed by December 1984 floods.

Arredondo Attending Santa Fe Meetings for Grants

Community Development Director Sherri Arredondo will attend Santa Fe meetings February 27 and 28 with CDBG and NMCA councils to decide grant allocations for Lordsburg street projects. The trip also includes a March 4 and 18 cancer support meeting at First Baptist Church, with 9:00 a.m. start times, and outreach by NMCA and CDBG staff to finalize a $100,000 rehabilitation grant alongside streets pending allocations totaling about $1.0 million across North Street, D Street, Gold Center, E F C and Woods, C Avenue, Wells, Jones, Zinc, Cactus Drive, Pyramid, Animas, Main, Airport Road and Third Street.
