Cyprus Phelps Dodge to Expand Bagdad Smelter in Arizona
An agreement in principle will allow smelting of Bagdad copper concentrates at the Cyprus owned Smelter in Sage Art Arizona. First concentrate delivery to occur early 1978 with annual output about 250000 tons containing 70000 tons of copper. Phelps Dodge will install extra facilities to treat Bagdad concentrates, including air pollution controls and a new sulfuric facility.
