Medicaid investigation targets 18 providers for possible action

District Court Case Load Increases Nearly 50 Percent
A 1968 statistical report from the Sixth Judicial District covering Grant, Luna and Hidalgo Counties shows 1 449 cases begun and 1 337 closed across all types. In Hidalgo County civil cases started 725 with 625 closed, 91 criminal started and closed. juvenile division 75 regular started and 65 closed. 558 juvenile traffic cases with 556 closed. Civil cases pending as of December 31 totaled 67 less than one year old, 12 one to two years old, 45 active and 39 inactive over two years. The court, now led by Judge Norman Hodges, has Civil caseload rising from 500 in 1961 to 725 last year.

Local Post Observes 50th Anniversary of Legion
The American Legion held a 50th anniversary observance at the Legion Hall on February 20 led by District 7 Commander W. W. Scott and District 7 President Ena Mitchell.
