A WWII Army veteran with long Lordsburg residence he is survived by his wife four sons two daughters a brother a sister and a grandson. The Lordsburg National Guard handled graveside rites at Mountain View Cemetery.

Kathleen S. Manes is named Librarian succeeding Marshelen Wells who retires after 13 years with the Lordsburg Hidalgo Library. Manes has spent about ten years with the library, began as a Library Aide in 1976 and served as Children's Librarian, earning a Librarian Certificate Grade I in May 1986. She moved from the east coast over eleven years ago and now lives with two daughters Heather Lynn and Dawn Andrea Rosa, and son-in-law Candido in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She enjoys reading, music, plants, dancing, hiking, camping, and meeting people of the Southwest.
