Edwin DeMoss Recovers Nicely After Emergency Surgery
Dr. K K DeMoss and Mrs DeMoss return from Stanford University where Edwin underwent an emergency appendectomy before parents arrived. Edwin woke at 5 am and went to University Hospital for immediate surgery. After two weeks at home and a vacation stay for Mary Josephine Sjostrom and Ruth Wood in Palo Alto, Edwin’s recovery is described as satisfactory. 1940 Range Program changes affect Hidalgo ranchers
The 1940 AAA Range Program introduces higher payments for deferred grazing and contour rating in Hidalgo County. Ranchers may receive 76 percent of their total allowance by deferring 26 percent of range land while using funds to implement approved practices such as fencing tanks windmills storage, weed control and soil conservation measures.
