Work At Museum Progressing Nicely
A grant of 8000 from Lordsburg and use of a city building fund a local museum project in a former skating rink. Led by Allen Hill and Leon Speer the Lordsburg Museum Board has built 21 display cases and furniture to house relics from glassware to rocks. Volunteers include Clem Biasa Kenny Roberson and Billy Knechel.

Community Effort Sends Cookies To The Troops
A local drive shipped about 250 pounds of chocolate chip cookies to troops in the Middle East. About 200 dozen cookies were baked at the National Guard Armory kitchen by named volunteers. Contributions covered postage and materials from numerous individuals and organizations, with shipping costs listed at 180 dollars and an estimated transit time of three weeks.

Carmen A. Diaz 93 of Lordsburg died February 18 at Gila Regional Medical Center. Visitation Thursday 3 to 5 PM at Bacas Heather Funeral Chapel with a 7 PM prayer vigil at St Josephs. Liturgy Friday 10 AM at St Josephs officiated by Fr Virgilio Sanchez. Interment Shakespeare Cemetery. Survived by five sons, two daughters, thirty grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Bacas Heather Funeral Chapels in charge.

The annual Landsail Races will be held April 13 14 eight miles west of Lordsburg on BLM land with a $20 entry for landsailors.
