The Hidalgo County Democratic Party calls a precinct meeting for Thursday March 13 1980 at 7 30 PM in the county courthouse Commissioner's Chamber to elect delegates for the county convention. A county convention follows Thursday March 20 1980 at 7 30 PM in the same room to choose nine delegates for the New Mexico State Convention at Pan American Center Las Cruces on March 29 1980 at 10 00 AM. County chair Maura Rico urges Democrats and precinct chairmen to attend and seek delegate posts.

Crime Stoppers program eyed for Hidalgo County and Lordsburg

Deadline is March 2 with penalties of 1 dollar per day plus 10 percent of the registration fee after. Vehicle owners who paid by mail order and have not received 1980 registrations or stickers should contact their local field office.

Lordsburg voters will see a five person ticket named Better Government under Felipe Alvarez Herb Collins Arthur Clark Smith Manuel Ramirez and Stephen Hill in the March 4 election. They promise to restore council under state statute seek input on all decisions oppose expensive lawsuits and advocate a permanent city attorney and planned agendas through the clerk.
