Lordsburg residents are assured of a musical highlight on March 22 1966 when Rupinoff and his Violin appears at the Cafetorium under Lions Club sponsorship. Homer Brooks reports committees and ticket locations will be announced soon as civic groups rally to support Lions Club charity programs. The Stredivarius violin valued at 100000 will accompany a program including Warsaw Concerto Chopin Polonaise Clair de Lune and Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue with violin solos by Rubinoff. County Farmers To Get Rehabilitation Aid For Flood Damage

Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation funds totaling 79000 dollars are made available in Hidalgo County for private property rehabilitation after December flooding of the Gila River. Aid covers 80 percent of costs with the owner paying 20 percent. Allocation of additional federal funds for public property rehab and future flood prevention remains undecided.

Heart Days for Business volunteers in Lordsburg

Local businessmen A L Hutchins and L B Rob inson serve as co chairmen of Heart Days for Business for the 1966 Heart Fund. They will canvass the community during the coming week asking for contributions and urge volunteers to join the house to house effort on Sunday February 27.

The First Methodist Church young adults will gather for coffee and informal fellowship from 9 36 to 9 45 am next Sunday morning. At 9 45 they will organize a new discussion class with Rev Ball as moderator in the sanctuary. A permanent meeting place will be decided then.

Gunshot Wound Hospitalizes Lordsburg Man

Albert Levario was in serious but satisfactory condition at Hidalgo General Hospital after a 1:00 am affray in front of the Monte Rey Bar. Crispin Sotelo of Tucson faces aggravated battery and firearms charges after posting $1,000 bond and a municipal count. Several others, including Robert Camacho Armando Medina John Elias Jesus Rodriguez Rayo Varela and Levario, were charged with tumultuous conduct. Elias waived and Medina Camacho Rodriguez pleaded guilty with fines. The bullet damaged Levario’s liver and rib.
