Freeman McWhorter was brought to DeMoss Hospital with a badly injured left ankle after the reins on his horse broke during a range ride, causing a fall that tore ligaments. Doctors set the ankle in a plaster cast and expect no permanent injury.

Mr and Mrs Boyd Nally mourn the death of their 15 month old daughter Betty Elaine who died early Sunday. Knights of Pythias DIamond Anniversary Event at Lordsburg

Lorodeburg's Pyramid Lodge No 2 joins lodges nationwide on Monday February 20 to mark the Knights of Pythias Diamond Anniversary. A musical program drama and addresses will be offered with a planned Columbia National Broadcasting System broadcast later cancelled. Senator Tom Connally was to give the principal address. Mrs Monty Moses and Mrs Hazel Chase have returned home after successful appendectomies. Dr J H Baxter and wife welcomed a fine 84 pound son James ard born Friday February 10. Baby Betsy Smith treated for bronchitis shows improvement. Mrs Noble Kirkpatrick had an emergency panectomy and is progressing nicely. Miss Bess Johnston of the Lordsburg teaching staff underwent an appendectomy.
