County considers Gila Regional hospital agreement terms
Hidalgo County commissioners agreed to study a proposed contract between Gila Regional Hospital and the county. Hospital administrator Ron McArthur cited a needed three year term and doctor arrangements. A Rodeo Community Association dinner is planned for February 15 to support rodeo activities with adult meals at four dollars and children under ten at one fifty.

Born January 16 1905 in San Jacinto Durango Mexico he moved from El Paso to this area in 1941 and worked 33 years for Southern Pacific. Survived by wife Jessie two sons Gerardo and Martin daughter Lorraine sister Soledad two grandchildren. Services at Heather Mortuary Sunday 7 pm officiated by Father Narciso Rivera. Mass Monday at St Josephs Catholic Church burial Shakespeare Cemetery. Pallbearers listed and honorary pallbearers named. Absentee ballots available at City Clerk office until 5 pm February 27 1986.

Reward increases to 800 for Graham Stables burglary
Last week a 300 award was offered for info on the Graham Stables burglary at Road Forks. Johnnie Graham adds 500 to the reward, now 800 total, for information leading to arrest and conviction. An older light blue pickup was seen near the 6 AM January 23 break in, saddles and gear valued at 3000 missing. Informants may contact Hidalgo Deputy Captain John McDonald, Hidalgo Sheriff's Department, or Crime Stoppers at 1800 6933.

Animas School Board Extends Contracts For Key Leaders

Charity Basketball Tournament Planned
The 3rd Annual Charity Basketball Tournament sponsored by Hidalgo County law enforcement officers runs February 29 and March 1. Deputy Richard Mejia says proceeds will go to area churches. Eight teams expected. current entrants include Socorro and Las Cruces police, Silver City and Hidalgo sheriff's departments, and Lordsburg Border Patrol. Games begin Friday at 6 30 PM and Saturday at 10 30 AM at the high school gym. Tickets at the door cost $1 for adults and 50 cents for children.
