Their bid on a Hough loader was 910 dollars less than the next bidder Deming Implement Co. Oscar Smith of Cotton City was appointed to the road maintenance crew to replace James Moorhead who resigned to work on the Fred Sanford ranch. The next regular meeting was set for March 8.

Tony Alvarez Jr aged 16 is in good condition at Hidalgo General Hospital recovering from a nonfatal gunshot wound to the upper left chest. Boy Scout Troop Plans Coffee Sale at Local Camp
The Boy Scouts of troop 129 will set up a camp Saturday February 13 in the vacant lot at Railroad Avenue and Main Street to brew and sell real camp coffee with homemade cake. The sale aims to raise funds to buy tents for the troop which currently lacks sufficient shelter.

By-Pass Law Repeal Fails In Committee
