Yount Receives Navy Commendation Medal for Heroic Rescue
Yount earned the Navy Commendation Medal at a January awards ceremony from CDR Lloyd W. Richards. The citation praises heroic acts aboard the USS Enterprise with Attack Squadron 196 on 26 July 1971 when he pulled a deck maintenance man from an A6A aircr in intake danger, risking his life to save a shipmate.
