Bandit Dies in Gunfight After Duncan Shootout
A masked robber who robbed a Willcox service station and escaped with 40 dollars died in a crossfire with Cochise County deputies in Duncan Arizona. A deputy and a civilian were wounded as the bandit abandoned a car and hid in a nearby house before dying. Sheriff I V Pruitt said the corpse bore the name John J ? absen. Authorities did not release the identities or injuries of the wound civilian and deputy.

The Lordsburg Board of Education on February 1 selected Schaefer and Merrell of Clovis as architects for a new high school. Plans and specifications should take 4 to 6 weeks, with rapid progress hoped on the project. The building will be on school ground west of the stadium. full use date is not yet forecast.
