Lyman Garrett 85 Mine Officer Brutally Slain

A brutal killing near Hidalgo county’s Little Cement jail in Valedon ends the 14 year service of Lyman Ciarrett, a mine special officer. The coroner’s jury returns that death was caused by blows to the head with a hard instrument. funeral rites follow with Elks and Knights of Columbus members in attendance.

Ford Motor Run Continuously Since September First

A man drove a Ford that kept running continuously from September 1 as he traveled to Lordsburg covering 120 461 miles before the engine stopped. The test, supervised by Ford, had the motor sealed for the journey and run during meals and tire repairs, proving the engine’s ability to keep running from start to finish.

Boy Scout Executive Board Meeting At Silver City

Gila Grande Council of the Boy Scouts of America held a Friday night executive board meeting in Silver City. Dallas Regional Director Mr. Piteh was guest speaker. Hidalgo County representatives included Fulter and Jesse T. Smith. The council aims to raise 8400 for the year ending Sept 1, with over 000 subscribed and 165 contributed so far.
