The annual school election held Tuesday produced 706 votes with Iber Heather leading at 488. Winners were P M Chase, Heather, and Mrs Robert Harwood, elected to six, six, and four year terms respectively as the school board reorganizes.

Three Fort Worth Teens Arrested After Car Theft
Three teenage boys from Fort Worth, Billy Gene Clark 15 Aubrey Harold Cain 17 and Raymond Brown 17, were arrested in Lordsburg New Mexico on January 29 after stealing a 1952 Chevrolet Station Wagon owned by W P Brewer Las Cruces. They were held in the county jail and were later extradited to Las Cruces.

Parking Meters Installed on Shakespeare and Pyramid Streets
The city reports new parking meters on Shakespeare and Pyramid Streets now in operation. Shakespeare will carry northbound traffic with meters on the east side, Pyramid Street will be southbound with meters on the west side. Chief Sanchez asks drivers to use the streets only as designated.
