Poultry Work Grows Rapidly Across State in Year

The annual report shows poultry production remains a key farm enterprise with activity in every county. Accreditations rose from 1 738 birds in five flocks in 1927 to 25 220 birds in 199 flocks this year. Housing, feeding, culling and breeding programs expanded with 218 houses rebuilt or built and 443 farmers guided to hatch chicks for fall production.

Judges Visit This Week In Town

Judge Geo. W. Hay and former judge Carl P. Duniton met in town on Wednesday for their weekly visit. Hay noted very little court business, seen as a favorable sign for the community. District Attorney W. B. Walton also visited Monday to confer with the county commissioners.

Miners Hurt Prompt Hospitalization in Lordsburg News

Antonio Thosales of Valedon and Comme Moneallo of Lordsburg were injured at the mine and admitted to Lordsburg Hospital last Friday morning. Thosales left the hospital a few hours later while Moneallo remained under care. JL and Lee of Animas underwent a major operation Sunday night. Pioneer engineer J Wood Walker dies in Arizona

Funeral services for J Wood Walker are set for today at 4 PM from Heilly Undertaking parlors with Grace Episcopal Church involvement and the Locomotive Engineers Brotherhood in charge at the grave. Born February 7 1904 in Orange Virginia he served 40 years as an engineer with the Southern Pacific and leaves a widow a son a granddaughter and several siblings and in laws visiting from New Mexico California and Virginia.
