Funeral for Leo Findley Smith in Lordsburg
Funeral services were held for Leo Findley Smith on Monday January 31 1966 at 2 p m in Heather Chapel with Rev Don Baker officiating. He died from injuries after a January 27 car crash near Lordsburg while returning from Truth or Consequences. Survivors include a daughter a step daughter a brother and a sister with pallbearers and honorary pallbearers named. Burial followed in Mountain View Cemetery.

The Fifth Sunday Rally of Churches of Christ and Christian Churches met at Bassett Auditorium with New Testament Christian Church of El Paso hosting. Cecil Todd of Joplin Missouri spoke, promoting revival meetings and national media work. Participants included attendees from Lordsburg, Deming, Silver City, Truth or Consequences, Las Cruces, and El Paso. The Lordsburg Church sent 17 delegates and Gene Bream led their local group. The next rally will be in Las Cruces in May.
