Lordsburg Seeks Water Wells With 67000 Grant Plan
The City of Lordsburg has been notified of a 67000 grant from the Water Supply Construction Fund covering up to 75 percent of eligible costs. Plans aim to locate water at the south end near the water tank to reduce electric costs and improve water quality, with work at the North Well Field to utilize two wells. If successful, wells will serve north, south, and east sides of town. Girl Scouts are selling cookies for fundraisers, and city leaders commend the Scouts. Advertising Budget Topic Of Meeting In Lordsburg
A Friday morning special meeting between David Seviers Lordsburgs State advertising agent the Chamber of Commerce and City Representatives reviewed a tentative 93 900 budget for nine months for local and regional advertising. The city would provide 45 900 with the state matching 48 000. Items include 30000 for billboards 16240 for brochures radio and TV 7500 for special events wind sail races 4th of July fair 20000 for local brochures 7500 for placemats showcasing Lordsburg Hidalgo County 9300 for Chamber wages and office expenses 760 for the Quarterly Magazine 2600 already expended by local bodies.
