Three local men file for the mayoral race in Lordsburg as city elections approach. Incumbent mayor Alan Koff seeks another four year term. challengers include Rita De La Garza and Warren White who appears on the Lordsburg People’s Party ticket. Lordsburg City Council met in a special session and set Feb 13 as bid deadline for renewing the city insurance covering autos liability and damages. Fire Destroys Abandoned Building on Main Street

14 Charges Dropped in Lordsburg Racial Bias Case
A Hidalgo County jury exonerated Lordsburg on 14 charges of racial discrimination and ruled against three former Mexican American workers on 3 counts. Primo Arvizo Art u ro Talavera each received 1000 dollars, Eddie Barrio 315, while 14 complainants got nothing. The trial followed an appeal of a New Mexico Human Rights Commission finding. Mayor Alan Koff testified. The Human Rights Commission may consider an appeal but exists likely limited.
