Santa Claus visited Lordsburg New Mexico arriving by airplane to a large daytime crowd after a booster plan. The event followed a town air tour and church and business leaders hosted the visitor.
About 350 children received candy and a toy during services at the 85 Theatre on Christmas Eve. Shoes were provided to camp children in need. A literary program amused attendees as George Wood acted as Santa Claus. Lyman Garrett served as general chairman. The C. A. & Co. led donors with a contribution of 50 cents.
Miss Edith Hodgson with the County Health Officer coordinates health activities in Hidalgo County for January. Valedon School girls club meets Tuesday 1 to 2 30 pm and Tuesday evenings for young women and mothers. Wednesday weigh and literature at Public Library 1 30 to 3 30. Lordsburg younger girls club meets Wednesday 4 to 5 at Wilson School. Virden visits include Thursday Jan 7 to 8 2. High School girls club 11 am to 12 pm. Mothers club afternoons. Baby Conference Day for Virden on Thursday Jan 28. Meetings in Last Chance Mine area on Fridays Jan 5 and 22. All mothers invited. other communities to be visited.
A dated letter from JAS W DARLEY of Hachita Mercantile Co. asks Mr. Holt to forward the Lordsburg Liberal to Hachita, noting he is now based in Hachita and did not speak before leaving. December 26, 1925.

R M Reynolds J E Devine and Oscar Allen went to Chicago to testify in the Boyd case but did not appear as the case was nolle pressed.
The First team lost 28 to 4 and the Second 19 to 8 after a Tuesday game in Deming. Trent’s car ran out of gas on the way home, forcing some players to walk in at six. Rev. Phillips spoke on December 17 about striving for life success and self-discipline.
Supt. W B Summers Jr of Columbus schools and Mrs Summers visit for the holidays with the Clayton family. The superintendent says Columbus is sure coming back with agriculture as the basis of prosperity for both the U S and Mexico.
About 25 000 visitors passed through Lordsburg in November with four local businesses handing out valuable gifts to shoppers. The Woman's Shoppe, Homey Donegan, Melvoy Jewelry, and Lordsburg Mercantile each awarded items from a diamond ring to a phonograph, drawing crowds and boosting local commerce as 4 103 tourist cars entered town.
Mrs Coolidge advocates random Bible reading as a habit and stresses careful study across its 66 books. A Sunday program on January 3 1926 includes morning service on The Divine Program for the Evangelization of the World followed by a church dinner and annual business meeting with 1925 reports and 1926 plans.
Sunday January 3 1926 at the Baptist Church Lordsburg hosts morning and evening talks on devotion and service. Pastor J L Rupard invites all to pray for direction and strength through Christ Philippians 4 15. All are warmly welcomed.
Judge Marsalis received Ted Harmon and three strangers at different times in recent days at the request of City Marshal Conner, resulting in added funds to the municipal treasury.
A reader thanks Dr Luckett and Miss Hodgson for bringing a nurse to Hidalgo County. The Mothers Club and Houston supporters praise the effort as a great Christmas gift and bless the contributors for making the gesture possible in Pasadena on December 21, 1025.
Felix Winslow and Miss Irina Phillips wed at the Ownby home with T. A. Phillips officiating. J. O. Phillips attended as father of the bride. The couple now reside in the Ownby cottage. B. B. had long lived there. Congratulations.

Elaborate Christmas programs filled Lordsburg churches as trees glowed and children rejoiced. The piece recalls the birth of the Babe of Bethlehem as the season’s true significance.
The community mourns Mrs. Mary J. McGhee Briel who died after Christmas 1925. She lived in the early 1900s, married D W Briel, was a Methodist worker, leaves Nobert and six brothers, four sisters. Funeral held at her church with Rev Willians and music by Mrs Koogler and Mrs Toss. Pallbearers named.
Mvisa Davia visits her father and sister in Tucson during the holidays while families in Valedon cope with mumps. The Valedon municipal tree program in the Opera house drew about 350 children as Santa arrived. Mrs Bass Clark Bagley Fuller and Mr Wright organized the event giving each child a toy sock of candy nuts fruit and apple with shoes for the less fortunate.
A brief note describes a temporary halt in active decking at Austin well No 4. It states deicing will resume soon after the new mast is installed to replace the out of commission one. The text expresses optimism about reaching a productive oil pool in the Lordsburg field and New Mexico as a future focus.
Lorvdabure hosted by Uivee, Judge Don W. Laisk, and U. S. Commissioner to supervise Volcano Mines sale won by J F P Woodbury for about 816000. John H. Blackwell also part of delegation as Silver City business interest grows in Lordsburg oil prospects.
December 24 program featured Christ mas songs, playlets, recitations, piano and vocal solos, and band performances. Band master Alden of State Agricultural College praised Columbus students for their rapid progress and urged continued support to sustain a strong local musicians program.
George Shepard of Thatcher visits his sister Miss Mildred Allen, staying for a time.
