The New Mexico Safety Belt Use Act becomes effective January 1, 1986. This note reviews the act alongside the Child Passenger Restraint Law active since July 1, 1985. It highlights requirements, penalties, and public understanding of seat belt use.
The act requires all under eleven to be restrained in a car seat or belt, with specific rules for ages under one and ages one to ten. Fines run from 25 to 50 dollars. effective dates are July 1 1985 and January 1 1986.

June open forum with county issues, $45,637 water well bid, Victoria Homes groundbreaking, Maverick Booster Club formed led by Willie McDonald.
