Legislative probes target bans on state universities

A nine month investigation by the Legislative Universities Investigating Committee will propose many bans in statutes affecting state universities. Chairman Sen Smalley says the panel will deliver a draft report to Gov Cargo around Jan 2 for the 1970 Legislature meeting Jan 20.

Sportsmen group donates funds for Redrock exotic animal pasture

The Central Mining District Game Protective Association gave 4000 to the Department of Game and Fish to buy material for a 200 acre fenced pasture at Redrock exotic animal area north of Lordsburg New Mexico. An additional 500 was donated to the Cole Gray Wildlife Scholarship Fund at New Mexico State University.

CWO Altuna Receives Commendation Medal in Korea

CWO Edward L. Altuna of Lordsburg is awarded the Commendation Medal in Korea. A career Army man, he served with the 19th Artillery Group (Air Defense) at Fort MacArthur Nike Missiles and was stationed at Camp Humphrys Korea. The group protects greater Los Angeles with a 24 hour air defense ring. The Altunas live in Van Nuys, California, until retirement in March 1973.
