Oil drilling to begin in Second township near Lordsburg

After a delay due to a mis understanding about the set to be used, A. Schlieter of Lordsburg plans a drill test in Second township 2 at ange 20 within days. He bought the property, holds leases on a large acreage, and says only paying quantities remain. Lead trader Hi Uhl, with forty years drilling experience, will supervise as New Mexico surges as an oil producer. Schlieter expects results at a depth that may yield a major well in the Hobbes pool and will announce to Lordsburg readers next week.

Magician Birch at High School Auditorium for PTA benefit

The Parent Teacher Association brings renowned magician Birch to the high school auditorium on Thursday January 8. Admission is 25 cents for students and 50 cents for adults due to a special advance agent confession. Funds from ticket sales go to the PTA with profits to be divided.

Lieut E L Edmundson, an officer at Dodds field, Texas, stopped Sunday during a cross country flight to visit his old friend Seret Hurley Jones. He praised Lordeburg field and its operation.
