SIC Agrees To Finance Local Nursing Home
The State Investment Council approved an $800,000 eight percent loan to HADECO to finance a new 80 bed nursing home in Lordsburg. Interim funding is with American Bank of Commerce Albuquerque. SBA guarantees loan payments via lease payments from HADECO. Construction expected to start in early spring and take about 15 months.

California Woman Killed In Highways Accident Near Here
Mrs. Karen Louise Lanners a 28 year old from Anaheim Calif died in a Saturday morning crash on Interstate 10 about 16 miles west of town. Her car overturned and she was thrown from the vehicle while her husband Henry E Lanners escaped injury. Their seven week old baby was injured when thrown from the car.

Animas School Election Called
The regular school election to elect two members to the Animas Independent School District No 6 board will be held Tuesday February 6, 1971. One member serves four years and one serves six. Two voting divisions exist for balloting. Polling places are the former Rodeo School building and the Animas School. Polls open 8 am to 7 pm.
