Lordsburg Voters Approve Beer and Wine In Restaurants

Lordsburg residents vote 140 for and 119 against, approving a measure to serve beer and wine in restaurants and cafes by a narrow 11 percent margin. This marks the second approval in two years after a prior election that opposed the option 91 to 86.

Animal School Board Ends Year With Regular Meeting

The Animal School Board met on Tuesday December 10 approving minutes warrants and agenda. They accepted Scott Nichols bid on a car for school adult use only and approved a bus contract supplement. Pavement bid for 2600 square yards around the school will be issued. Open Forum on Animas school testing set for January limited to one hour. Out of state trips discussed a motion to cancel failed for lack of second. Executive session followed by resignation acceptance for Cindy Adams and leave request for Linda Clopton for remainder of 85-86 year. Candy Allen and Tannis Clifton hired to fill these posts. Next meeting scheduled for second Tuesday in January.
