A Good Man Passes to the Higher Life in Lordsburg
After a brief illness Charles Johnson died Thursday morning November 2 1926. Rev CV Williams officiated at the Friday funeral from his home, burial in Mountainview cemetery. Born in New York City in 1876 he worked twelve years in the Tampico oil region Mexico before moving to Lordsburg New Mexico to serve as chef for Anita Copper Co. He and his wife, who taught domestic science in New York, wed in Lordsburg February 12 1925 and shared a devoted partnership. Both were longtime members of the United Lutheran Church and the community extends sympathy as Mrs Johnson remains in Lordsburg.
