Rancheros de Hidalgo announce a premier fair from October 26 to 28 featuring a calf feeder sale. Payne Named Pine State Official Amid Legislative Post

H Vearle Payne, Lords City Attorney and state legislator, named Assistant Tax Attorney while serving in the Legislature. He will act as Tax Attorney during Chapman’s absence, leading a staff of eight. Payne goes to Santa Fe but remains voting precinct head. The state Supreme Court ruled no legal prohibition on civil posts for lawmakers during term.

Beloved Pioneer W H Small Dies at Lordsburg

W H Small a longtime Lordsburg businessman died aged 77 after a life of community service. He helped found the local Methodist church and was a charter member of the Masons Knights of Pythias and Eastern Star. He was born in Zenia Indiana and married Sadie A Oliver in 1884. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with a large turnout of relatives and fraternal members.

Picnics Highlight Methodist Youth Activities

DeMons Hospital To Send Mrs Reynolds Home

Dr EB C DeMons states Mrs Charles G Reynolds, assaulted by a Ft Huachuca soldier on August 12, is to be returned to her home today or tomorrow. She suffered eleven head wounds including three skull fractures and bled heavily in the brutal attack. Friends call her recovery miraculous.

Johnsons Plan Move to Lordsburg Next Week

Dr Rows W Johnson and family will relocate to Lordsburg from Virden next Monday and occupy the former home of T E Lyons. Mrs W P Hill arrived from the ranch Wednesday. The heavy rains forced portions of ranch routes to be towed. Ranchers remain hopeful amid the conditions.
