Revival services at the Lordsburg Methodist church continue daily at 10:00 am and 7:30 pm led by Rev Beavers from Fresno with Rev M O Williams and Rex Quails. After Beavers was called home, Williams maintained steady leadership aided by Hoy W J Simms in Tucson district meetings.

Bear Cats Take a Game from Bowie

The Lordsburg Bear Cats defeated Bowie 22 to 8 in peal baseball with home runs by Marsalis and Egon and several base hits by Ben Dee. The lineup featured O'Brien Kerr Eaton Mason and Marsalis among others. Eaton struck out four times in four innings, showing Charley’s old tricks as Bowie hosts Lordsburg next Sunday to even the series.

Cash Watson Stays In Cambray Overnight

Cash Watson traveled to El Paso to bring home a Chevrolet and on his return Sunday became stuck in sand near Cambray. He remained overnight and reported that cars burned headlights earlier along the paved El Paso to Mesilla Park road.

Oil Strike Reported Near Bowie at Howard Ranch

Oil was struck at 600 feet in a water well being drilled on the Howard Ranch twelve miles northeast of Bowie. Geologists and oil men claim an underground oil lake exists nearby. A standard rig by U S Oil and Refining Co drilled a 1000 foot hole before cash ran out and work halted for months.

World’s Largest Dam Planned by U S Reclamation Service

The Chicago Herald reports Western Union Telegraph Company plans to buy about 19 million pounds of copper after a 10 million pound purchase.
