County and Lordsburg officials met April 22 with engineer Joseph Gendren to review EID rules under the Solid Waste Act. Shared landfills, high startup costs, ongoing monitoring, and long postclosure requirements were noted, with plans to pursue in-county sites and future meetings with Phelps Dodge.
