Houser Nominated as Elks District Deputy in New Mexico
Exalted Ruler Joe McCarty and Trustee J F Houser presented Lordsburg Lodge 1313 at the New Mexico State Fiks convention in Farmington April 13 15 to seek Houser as district deputy grand exalted ruler for southern New Mexico. Alex Coull of Las Vegas elected state president. Raymond C Dobson attended and backed Robert E Boney of Las Cruces as successor. The lodge plans a 6 30 pm dinner for brothers and wives on Saturday April 22 with nine candidates to be initiated at 8 pm by Willcox lodge officers.

Lordsburg High School graduate and Hot Springs High School basketball coach Mack Pace of Truth or Consequences has been elected president of the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. A 1960 Western New Mexico University alum, Pace began coaching in Truth or Consequences and has served as assistant football coach for five years. He is married to Connie Yeurie of Hardsburg with two children, Steve and Stephanie. Pace was born and raised in New Mexico.

Chard Richardson and Art Talavera were elected track co captains by Lordsburg Mavericks. Richardson competes in discus, shot put, javelin and high jump and holds school records in discus shot put and javelin. The Lordsburg Mavericks earned a second place at the Tiger Relays led by Chad Richardson with 15 points and a host of near top finishes.
