Transmission Line To Central Advances In March
Public Service began construction in March on a 44 mile 69 kilovolt transmission line from Lorisburg to near Central Mexico. The project aims to boost capacity from the power plant to the Lity and Central areas, crossing rugged terrain including the Gila National Forest and Con Divide near Signa. Construction includes three ACSR conductors and 6 inch EHS galvanized wires with lighting protection.

Joe P. Starr of Albuquerque New Mexico is the apparent low bidder on a contract to blast four potholes in the San Simon Cienega area twenty miles southwest of Lordsburg. The nesting sites for the Mexican Duck require four foot holes covering one surface acre. A follow up contract will be issued later for well development and further waterfowl management work.
