The Chamber of Commerce will meet Monday evening at 8 o'clock at City Hall. All Lordsburg citizens interested in future prosperity are urged to attend to prepare for postwar challenges and help promote the city's great possibilities.
The Methodist church presents Holy Week events led by Pastor with theme Jesus Calls Us. Schedule includes Palm Sunday and daily 7:30 p m services through Friday with special music by Mrs. Thelma Ross and the youth choir. Easter reception follows Sunday service.
By June 30 1943 Army officers and enlisted personnel will wear identical olive drab battle jackets and trousers. The standard uniform replaces the mixed colored outfits and various coats, moving toward a uniform overcoat raincoat with detachable lining if production allows.
A UTA KAPPA GAMMA gathering enjoyed a seven o'clock dinner followed by a regular meeting. Members present included Mrs Ha Clark Helen Robertson Traylor and Mr Helen Bess Johnston Katherine Hards Katherine Smith Lou Rankin Clara Emaker and the hostess. An annual holiday party planning was discussed.

Mrs. Emma Muir Past Grand Matron of New Mexico hosted a luncheon at the Pioneer Hotel in Tucson. Attending were Mesdames Kula Ownby Trella Rolfe Hazel Chase Anna Chase Mabel Portwood Goldia Andrews Allie Keanan Mamie Lander and Mary Dee Kipp assisted by her daughter.

A fire consumed the house of W. H. Curley Walters in Animas on Monday afternoon, with no belongings saved. Mrs. Carrie Bounds, visiting from Separ, attended church in Lordsburg over the weekend and was in town Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Rachel Hennefer Richins dies after a long life that began in Utah and Wichita areas before marriage in Salt Lake City. She raised nine of her husband Orson O Richins's children and cared for grandchildren in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Lordsburg. Survived by daughter Ena Mitchell and many relatives, she was buried in Virden.
The Women’s Society of Christian Service hosts its annual Silver Tea at Mrs Jack Heather’s home on Friday April 12. The public is invited to call between 2 and 5 o’clock to attend or inquire.
