Decrease in Lordsburg School Enrollment Seen for Next Year
Superintendent Phil DeFoor told the Lordsburg School Board that the 1989 Legislature approved a 5 percent one time salary increase for school employees. He proposed paying the three month increase in a lump sum at year end. Enrollment is projected to fall from 774 this year to 755 next year, a 2.5 percent drop of 19 students. The district has seen a steady enrollment decline since 1975, about 3 percent annually.
