Chamber of Commerce to buy Welcome to Lordsburg sign

At a March 28 meeting the Chamber formed Mattox Sign Co to replace the Welcome to Lordsburg sign on the highway east of town. The current ad space will be converted to information about Lordsburg and the change will take effect August 1.

Masons Inspect Hot Springs Bldg

Lordsburg Lodge No. 30 AF and AM visited Hot Springs to inspect the new temple. Members included R B Ownby Alvin Parker J L Augustine and couples Mr Mrs W H Walter Mr Mrs George Godfrey Mr Mrs Ben Cochran and Mr Mrs Geo Jeisus. The temple includes lodge room recreation dining kitchen office and other facilities.

Coronation Held by First Baptist Church Girls Auxiliary

The Girls Auxiliary of the Woman's Missionary Union hosted a house party and coronation at the First Baptist Church from Friday afternoon to Saturday, with guests from Silver City and Bayard. Ella May Allen was crowned Queen, and several girls from Lordsburg Silver City and Bayard earned maidens ladies in waiting and princess titles, receiving autographed fans.
