Williams, pioneer and longtime Lordsburg resident born May 24, 1833 in Liberty Illinois, died June 4, 1912 at 7 15 p m in her eightieth year of heart failure She leaves two sisters Mrs Katherine Nations and Mrs Barbara Allen of Camp Point Illinois and an extended family including Hobart M Williams Warren Williams and Olive Gertrude Williams deceased Her husband F M Williams died about ten years ago and is buried in Pomona cemetery The funeral will be held at the Church of the Brethren in Lordsburg with Rev Yundt officiating}

T Baxter White of Williams Avenue LaVerne raised a Liberty Pole last Wednesday. The event featured the Star Spangled Banner sung by Mrs W C Perham Mrs Frank Sheldon and Miss Jessie White as the flag was unfurled. The flag carried a long history.

Outfall Sewer Plan Attracts Regional Interest
At a May 26 meeting many local cities including Pasadena Alhambra Whittier Glendora Covina Pomona Lordsburg showed interest in an outfall sewer. It was decided to hire engineers to conduct preliminary surveys for a route to the sea with a report expected by July 1.

Lordsburg voters approved a $36 000 good roads bond by 171 to 49 two thirds needed. The measure advances road work on Fourth Street and spurs plans to oil or gravel most city streets soon with Lincoln Avenue also slated for improvements.

Young Man Frederick E Klein Dies at 22
Frederick E Klein aged 22 died May 31 and was buried in Lordsburg cemetery after funeral services at Advent Christian Church conducted by Pastor Geo J French. Born in Chicago May 26 1890 he lived there until moving to Los Angeles two years ago for health reasons. He came to Lordsburg last September with his mother Minnie Klein and sister Rena at his side. His father Ebba arrived Tuesday and the family planned to stay a month or so to decide whether to return to Chicago or make Lordsburg their permanent home.
