Paving Base Line Road Discussion Set at LaVerne School

W. S. Romick asks the Leader to announce a meeting on paving Base Line Road. It will be held tomorrow Friday at 7 30 PM at the LaVerne schoolhouse with Supervisor Hamilton present. The committee from the previous meeting will report. All interested are urged to attend.

Nineteen graduates received diplomas across Expression Music Academy College and more. Dr W F Harper delivered the keynote on power through sacrifice and service, followed by musical solos and a banquet with alumnae talks and the new alumni president urging stronger college support.

What the Faculty Will Do During Vacation

President Miller will conduct a strenuous campaign for the College both from the office and in the field. He will take a vacation of about four weeks to get rest. Dr. Hoover leaves for the eastern part of the continent today and will spend most of the summer there. When he returns he will bring his mother from Ohio. Beginning late June, Prof. Nininger will work with Pomona College at Laguna Beach and conduct a Bird Study course for the summer school. After June twentieth Professor Dresher will undertake a trip known only to himself and his bride-elect, then return to Lordsburg.

Bonita High School Finishes Strong In Dual Meets And Elections

Bonita High School teams visit George Junior Republic posting a 23 to 0 baseball win and a 13 to 7 tennis victory. Townley Pierson and John Price win singles and doubles. Milne and Crenshaw lose. Student Body officer elections unfold with nominees for president and secretary. The year ends with the Bonita Echoes yearbook in press, senior events scheduled, and diplomas awarded to twenty graduates.

Lordsburg Crowd Gathers for San Gabriel Valley Commerce Meet

Crowds are expected in Lordsburg on Tuesday for the June meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of San Gabriel Valley. Afternoon sessions at the M E Church social rooms feature Dr N D Darlington and Willis H Booth with discussions on road maintenance and good roads relations. Postmaster McClellan chairs the entertainment committee with Mrs. Aide serving a spread.

Fire department to get every cent raised at Killick lecture

F H Killick pledges no personal pay as proceeds from a Friday lecture at the College Auditorium go entirely to Lordsburg’s volunteer fire department. The event promises fire safety demonstrations, international travel tales, and a look at historic fires with Killick sharing experiences from Europe, Canada, the Arctic, and the United States.
