Alfonso Reevey, a colored resident, retracted his not guilty plea and entered a plea of non vult to a second degree murder charge in the shooting death of William Brown at Fair Haven. Fire destroys Lucy Douglass home in Lincroft blaze
Firefighters from West Side Hose Company Red Bank and Brookdale battled a large fire at the Lucy Douglass residence in Lincroft Saturday night around 6 80 o clock. The blaze started near an oil stove and quickly consumed the house with a $2 500 loss partially covered by insurance. A sleeping man in a barn nearby was awakened in time by a passerby and saved. Neighbors assisted as the oil stove exploded and oil saturated the kitchen. Only clothing was saved for the Colton and Whitneck households as the fire spread to the home and outbuildings.
