Grand Officers Attend Eastern Star Annual Clam Bake

Members of Adah Chapter No.5 gathered at Price's Pleasure Bay resort on the Shrewsbury river for their sixth annual clam bake and outing. The event featured boating, a large riverfront bake, glass dining room bustle, and music from the hotel orchestra with Worthy Grand Matron Marie Baim and other grand officers in attendance. The bake opened at six with merriment and no formal speeches, and many guests enjoyed automobile rides home after a successful gathering.

Jamesburg Boy Arrested For Parole Violation

Templeton Jackson an 18 year old Red Bank youth and former Jamesburg Reform School inmate was arrested by County Detective Elwood Minagh for breaking parole. He was held overnight then returned to the school after probation official W. W. Ramsay notified Jamesburg authorities.

Booster Dinner Planned for September 23 in Long Branch

Mayor Edwin W. Packer presided at a Board of Trade meeting in the West End Shore Club to plan a “Booster” dinner for Saturday evening September 23. Committees on speakers and banquet were named, and reports will be presented next Monday at City Hall.
