A double trolley crash near the Oceanport station injures Miss Anna Belle Vandermark of Eatontown and disrupts service. Spreading rails caused both cars to jump tracks as crowds scrambled. traffic resumed after a wrecking crew worked.

Sight-Seeing Car Meets Mishap Near Freehold
A sightseeing touring car from Ocean garage on Broadway left yesterday for the county seat and two miles from Freehold the front steering rod broke. The driver used emergency brakes but the vehicle veered and struck a roadside fender. Passengers reported injured but all were unharmed and brought home by arriving autos. the car was left for repairs.

Young Man Stricken by Paralysis In Neptune
William Foley, a 25 year old plumber and boarder at the Neptune House on Fleet Avenue, suffered a stroke Tuesday. He was moved to Monmouth Memorial Hospital in Hyer and Flock’s ambulance the next day. Doctor Pilice noted paralysis and Foley's condition remained serious with slight improvement after admission.

Carnival Committee Selects Officers for 1912
Carnival officers for 1912 were chosen at City Hall by the amusement committee of the board of trade. George E. Poland is chairman with G M L Sacks as vice chairman J H Davis Jr as treasurer and Daniel Doran as secretary. New committees will be added and the doll carnival and big carnival groups will cooperate to enlarge the festival. A special committee will report on electing a carnival queen by popular vote and a $40 prize will be offered for best arch design for the arches across the avenue grand stand by school pupils through Leon Cubberley.

John J Flanagan of Headden s Corner was badly concussed when his wagon was struck by a New York resident s automobile Saturday at Red Bank. He was knocked unconscious, carried to the Central Hotel, then to his home under Dr R Browsing Wilson s care. The incident occurred as Flanagan pulled from Maple Avenue onto West Front Street.

Rain disrupted the May Pole drill at Washington Park and dampened festival turnout but the Long Branch Military Band concert thrilled hundreds. The new common battery switchboard at the New York Telephone Company in Third Avenue operated flawlessly with 98 o'clock cutover. The system promises reduced party lines and bell ringing, with seven cables and 6,600 pairs of wires feeding the main frame. Recent severe storms caused extensive damage in Keyport Matawan Keansburg Ideal Beach Port Monmouth and Middletown. Lightning struck a 76 year old silver maple in Keyport demolished trees and damaged property.
