New Board of Health Appointed by Long Branch Mayor
A seven member Board of Health was appointed and confirmed by the Long Branch Board of Commissioners this morning. Mayor Newcomb named the appointees, with the solicitor's opinion approving the action under the Walsh Act and 1905 health board provisions. Three appointees are former health board members. appointments include terms of one to four years.

Everett Covert won the one mile event at the Chattle meet for the second straight year, finishing in five minutes 24.8 seconds to beat Leroy Barry and Daniel Caulking Jr. The victory earns him the Arthur P. Former Resident Catherine Thompson Dies at 87
Federal services for Miss Catherine J. Thompson of Elberon, who died in Brooklyn, were held at 1 30 p.m. in the Shrewsbury Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dwight J. Parsons officiated with burial by Pay of Ted Tank. Born in Elberon she lived there 40 years, then at Tinton Falls with her sister, later moving to Brooklyn where she resided since. Death attributed to general debility. she was the last surviving family member.
