The annual Knights of Columbus convention met at St James Hall Red Bank with officers reelected including State Deputy John J Hickey and State Secretary C A McGlennon East Newark. Delegates Thomas Fay and Hickey were chosen for the national gathering in Quebec. New councils were formed in Somerville Riverside and Haddon Heights with total state membership rising.

Enthusiasm Marks 28th Convention of Sons of Veterans
Enthusiasm opened the 28th annual New Jersey Division Sons of Veterans convention at Red Bank with a public reception. Delegates from 33 camps gathered at Borough Hall as Division Commander Charles Schmidt led the session and officers reported a healthy organization with 1,683 members across 32 camps. Monmouth Park Tract Sold to New York Syndicate
The 875 acre Monmouth Park tract near Ocean Township was sold Tuesday to a New York syndicate planning a large residential development. Former owners Melvin & Van Keuren of Ocean Township had bought it for about 50 000 dollars and sold the grandstand materials as junk. The buyers, led by Garrett S. Wright, envision a boulevard, bungalow colony, villa plots, and larger home sites with river and road frontages and utilities.

The Shrewsbury township Board of Education met in Red Bank to approve a budget for school supplies and discuss salaries. Runaway horse injures youth during Chelsea drag drive
A horse attached to a delivery wagon ran away in Chelsea avenue this morning. William Stein controlled the wagon briefly before the horse speeded toward Ocean drive. The wagon overturned on Sally avenue, pinning Stein and injuring his arm. The horse dashed on until Bath avenue where it was stopped after several near collisions.
